AAHGS CALL FOR PAPERS OPEN TO JUNE 30
Genealogy as History, History as Genealogy: The Duality of Discovering Your Ancestors
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society (AAHGS) “Call for Papers” (CFP) for its 42nd Annual Conference remains open until June 30, 2021. The 2021 theme is “Genealogy as History, History as Genealogy: The Duality of Discovering Your Ancestors.” The annual conference will be held virtually October 13-16, 2021.
AAHGS President Baba Gene Stephenson said, “The Call for Papers seeks to bring together some of the best global minds in educational, historical and genealogical research methodology, from which conference attendees can carry onward to enriching discoveries of their ancestors in the Afro-American 400-years legacy, much of which is woven into the American historical narrative.”
The CFP entails a wide range of categories including DNA testing, migration trails, military service, preservation practices through cemeteries, objects and artifacts, and special topics to advance our understanding of Afro-American and African-ancestral family history.
Visit the website aahgs.org for conference registration details soon to be announced. Persons interested in submitting CFPs should submit an abstract, click on the project link AAHGS CFP. Please include a bio, photo and title of the abstract with your submission.
